Description:
A small reedbuck, pale gray tan with white underparts, including
a bushy white undertail; no other contrasting markings. The
horns are short, strongly ridged, and forward curving at the
tips.they have a glandular bare spot below the ears.

Sub-species/similar
species: Southern Mountain Reedbuck (R.
f. flavorfula) overlaps with Common Reedbuck
in Swaziland and surrounding vicinity but are barely half
as big. The eastern African race, Chandlers Mountain Reedbuck
(R. f. chanleri) can overlap with Bohor Reedbuck,
but is distinguished by smaller size, grayer color, and slender
horns that are not as strongly hooked. Gray Reedbuck's
horns are nearly straight and vertical.

Montane grasslands.
Breeding:
Year round; 1 calf born after 8-month gestation period.
Unlike
other Reedbucks, the Mountain Reedbuck is sociable. Females
and young live in herds of two to six (and occasionally up
to eight) animals whose home range includes the territories
of several males; immature males associate in small bachelor
herds. They are active both night and day, but rest during
the hottest hours.
