For the hunter who wants a wide range of hunting opportunities on a variety of terrain, from lower elevation mountains, rolling hills, forests, long grass meadows to typical savanna habitat, this region is the best South Africa has to offer. With this variety of biome, you can determine which of the numerous indigenous species you wish to hunt in each area. These exclusive Kabra properties are located in the Limpopo Province , approximately three driving hours north of the Johannesburg International Airport . Though located in the foothills of the remote and pristine Waterberg Mountains , the easy ground access eliminates the hassle and cost of taking a connecting flight immediately after the international flight. Lodging consists of four en-suite two bed chalets with a common open-air kitchen, bar and braai (barbeque). We are both the people planning your safari, and the people guiding you in the field. This ensures the highest levels of communication, planning and hunting.

HUNTING: Hunting is primarily conducted on both Kabra owned and exclusively leased land. We have a total of over 30,000 exclusive acres to hunt on. All these properties are within a short 20 minute drive from the main hunting camp. The lodge property is used for bow hunting only. Archery hunters will find excellent hunting both over water and also by the spot and stalk method. Spot and Stalk bow hunting is best during the "green season", where the grass is longer and is in the March time period. Other leased properties are available as needed for a few of the specialized habitat species. We hunt South Africa the way it was supposed to be, in the very best hunting areas, giving you the best opportunity to experience the hunt. We have approximately an additional 100,000 acres of available land that we can hunt on as well when needed.

PLANNING : Any time a hunter travels abroad there are numerous details that, when put together, can needlessly spoil what should be a most memorable and successful endeavor. At no additional cost, we assist you over these hurdles. For example, Kabra Safaris can coordinate all aspects of your air transportation and paperwork for customs (firearm, bow declarations etc). Too often the international hunter's return of trophies to the U. S. is frustratingly slow and encumbered with bureaucracy. As part of our service we assist in the coordination of this process. This is one aspect that separates us from other safari companies; we are both the consultant/agent and the hunting outfitter on the ground. We have a full time office in the United States and also in South Africa to coordinate your entire trip. We are both the people planning your safari, and the people guiding you in the field. This ensures the highest levels of communication, planning and hunting. On landing in South Africa we will meet you and walk you through customs. If bringing a firearm we will assist you with all aspects of the paperwork and walk you through the permitting process. From there you will be driven to our camp, where you will have an arrival day, shooting your rifles, and preparing for your hunt to start the next day.

SEASON: in the southern hemisphere, seasons are reversed; our winter is their summer, their fall our spring etc. The season to hunt the Limpopo is from March through October when the foliage is lighter, and travel conditions dry. Temperatures during the hunting season are moderately cool at night (40-50 F) with sunny days peaking in the 70-80 F range. Rains are infrequent and mosquitoes nearly non-existent during these prime months.

SPECIES : The variety and abundance of trophy quality animals are impressive by any standard. A typical day will provide an opportunity to see literally dozens of huntable quality animals on these properties. This is largely due to the fact that the area has been properly managed over the long term and infrequently hunted. One can readily observe white rhino, giraffe, black eagle and an occasional leopard on these properties in addition to the animals most often sought by safari hunters. Trophy quality species most available include but are not limited to Blesbuck, Bushbuck, Duiker, Gemsbok, Impala, Greater Southern Kudu, Nyala, Red Hartebeest, Waterbuck, Warthog, Blue Wildebeest, Zebra, Eland and Giraffe.

No matter what you are looking for in African Hunting, Kabra Safaris can put you on the animal.
